Major Duties (Job Description)

  • Serves as the Administrative Specialist (OA) to the Commandant, Dean (Chief of Academics), CSM, and Chief of Staff of the Recruiting and Retention College (RRC).
  • Serves as the point of contact between the Office of the Commandant and the branch chiefs and maintains personal contact with officials of other organizational elements in performance of administrative duties.
  • Serves as the official point of contact for staff actions in matters pertaining to the coordination and disposition of a variety of substantive actions and assignments.
  • Prepares and edits reports, briefings, and other informational material designed primarily to report functions of the Recruiting and Retention College (RRC).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) preparing all reports for the command to assure proper formats grammar, spelling, and style are adhered; 2) assisting staff personnel or visitors in a variety of administrative matters; AND 3) scheduling and arranging meetings, conferences, briefings and performing other tasks connected with the day-to day administrative work of the office. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration or Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
