Major Duties (Job Description)

  • Provides advice and directs redistribution instructions pertinent to excess devices and related training support equipment to ensure maximum utilization of resources Army wide and in support of Army Campaign Plan and Military Assistance programs.
  • Provides management oversight of Army Training Support Centers to include the design, development and standardization of facilities and services world-wide.
  • Maintains total asset visibility, on system and non-system training devices to insure their holistic life cycle management from acquisition, initial distribution, redistribution, movement and/or disposition inventory, and accountability.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of acquisition processes, systems analysis, reliability, and maintainability (RAM) and standard Army garrison organization structures.
  • Uses office automation equipment, collaborative tools, communication equipment, hardware, and software to prepare plans, timelines, etc. for various projects in order to perform duties and to communicate with supervisor, customers, and peers.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with 1) applying acquisition logistics and life cycle management principles to training devices and support material; 2) assisting with budgetary processes and funding sources to stock, store, distribute or sustain training support equipment, e.g. Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution system (PPBE); and 3) analyzing and evaluating established processes and procedures to improve logistical operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). *All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
