Major Duties (Job Description)

  • Account and review activities related to the Academic Records System.
  • Monitor individual student training records.
  • Review training reports ensuring Training Department submissions are properly entered.
  • Coordinate facilities for graduations and resolve scheduling issues.
  • Manage administrative functions for the Technical Engineering Skills Division.
  • Schedule appointments for division and course chiefs.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare travel authorizations and vouchers.
  • Prepare a variety of textual materials, charts and graphs utilizing a variety of computer software applications.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: utilizing computer to produce a variety of textual materials; entering, revising and retrieving data from a database system; reviewing information and materials for accuracy; coordinating travel and transportation; and scheduling and de-conflicting appointments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
